When we contemplate winter tree identification, the mind's of many go straight to bark. Naturally, bark is very useful, but also important to unpack clearly, as the bark of many species can change radically over the course of a long life. Let's get you set off on the right foot by learning to first recognize distinct bark types with fresh eyes.
